The Human Rights Campaign Board Members
The Human Rights Campaign’s board members are a unique and diverse group of courageous, hardworking and talented people who combine strong professional skills with a passion for equality and justice for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans. No higher caliber of committed volunteers exists.
HRC’s boards make policy, manage finances and coordinate volunteer involvement for the organization. They sustain HRC’s vision and raise awareness about the mission of the Human Rights Campaign.
Board of Directors
The Human Rights Campaign Board of Directors — a group of volunteers comprised of corporate and community leaders from throughout the country — is the governing body for the corporation. Its members determine HRC’s mission and purposes, and they sustain the organization’s vision.
The HRC Board of Directors has the ultimate authority over the organization’s actions, including fiscal management and budget approval. Board members also establish the official policies that direct HRC.

Human Rights Campaign Foundation Board
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that encourages gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans to live their lives openly. The foundation also seeks to change the hearts and minds of Americans to the side of equality.
The HRC Foundation Board has the ultimate authority for the actions of the Foundation. The board manages the foundation’s finances and establishes official policies governing the foundation.

Board of Governors
The dedicated members of the Human Rights Campaign’s Board of Governors manage the organization’s local outreach nationwide. They help to build HRC’s membership and maintain relationships with local communities.
Each member of the HRC Board of Governors is responsible for coordinating fund raising and volunteer activity in the city or region he or she represents. Members also serve as liaisons between their local communities and HRC’s staff and boards.
